Tonight in ATL! Mr Jesus Community Screening

Friday, February 13
6:00 PM–9:00 PM
Virginia-Highland Church UCC
Atlanta, Georgia
✝️ RSVP here

Mr Jesus follows Chris, a down-on-his-luck actor who wakes up one morning to discover that his image has been stolen to create a GenAI Jesus, and now everyone believes he's the Second Coming.

(m)otherboard is partnering with Mr Jesus to screen the film with faith, community, and tech organizations to spark conversations about the tech stories reshaping our world. Come see the very first screening of Mr Jesus, and join us with a community discussion afterward with Pastor Matt Laney from Virginia Highlands Church–UCC and Aden Van Noppen from (m)otherboard along with the filmmaking team.

And stay tuned for a (m)otherboard virtual screening and discussion details...

The Changemakers Guide Book Club

Our next book club sessions explore The Changemakers Guide: Proven Methods for Building Impactful Social Tech by Dr. Kortney Ziegler. (m)otherboard is a Founding Sponsor of The Changemakers Guide.

Dr. Ziegler's work offers a radical blueprint for building technology that repairs rather than exploits—from breaking harmful systems to rebuilding regenerative models that center dignity and community trust. His frameworks for cycle mapping, debt-free product design, and participatory growth speak directly to our commitment to bending tech toward collective good.

📅 Session 1: Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 1:00 PM ET
📅 Session 2: Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at 1:00 PM ET

Solidarity House at Sundance

God(m)other Emily Best helped rally an incredible coalition of purpose-driven media, narrative, and cultural leaders at The Solidarity House at Sundance a few weeks ago. This gathering was designed to strengthen our collective capacity to imagine and build the future of independent storytelling. At a time when artists, funders, and platforms are rethinking their relationships to power, technology, and sustainability, The Solidarity House creates space for meaningful alignment—where imagination meets infrastructure, and solidarity becomes strategy.

Who Stewards the Future panel featured (m)otherboard member Baratunde Thurston; Valerie Veatch, director Ghost in the Machine; Charlie Tyrell, director of The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist; and Dayo Olopade of the Mozilla Foundation. The group explored what agency means today (hint: it’s collective) and offered a positive vision for what building tech could look like that doesn’t feel like slop, enshittification, or brain rot. I don't know about you, but we want to be part of a future that includes food, friction, and thumbprints.

📽️ Watch: Who Stewards the Future: Artists, Audiences, and the Fight for Agency

And tune into the rest of the Solidarity House Sundance conversations for more on the future of independent storytelling.

Looking forward to reading, watching, discussing, and building together,
— The God(m)others 💛
