We’re honored you’re here! We aim for these transmissions to be a delight to your inbox during times that will challenge us all.
We have LOVED hearing from many of you in our provocation (fill it out if you haven’t yet!). Many of you expressed hope for how technology can be used for connection, for better health outcomes, for democracy, and community. At the same time, many of you expressed fear about the weaponization of technology as a fundamental force shaping culture and society, that the speed of adoption is incredibly hard to counteract. You agree that envisioning a pro-social future of technology is an essential project. And we learned that you are already out there building platforms, communities, and art to bend the arc of technology and society towards justice—we are finding our people!!
What you shared is shaping how we build (m)otherboard. Which leads us to our big announcement…
MEMBERSHIP + BOOK CLUB
Normally we wouldn’t shout but WE ARE SO EXCITED! We are launching our pay-what-you-can membership and you are the *first* to know. Supporting Members will build lasting connections in a community of their peers who are doing the hard work of bending the arc of technology toward collective good and away from the increasingly unchecked power of the tech-oligarchy.
As one of the first member benefits, you’ll have access to our *members-only* book club and a 20% discount on our first book club book We Just Build Hammers by our own god(m)other, Coraline Ada Ehmke.

SXSW and A PEOPLE’S HISTORY OF TECH MARCH 8–9
If you are at SXSW, come see us at The Lighthouse March 8–9 and add your stories to A People’s History of Tech installation. For the first time, our installation will include prompts for stories from the future in addition to reflections on the past. It will be worth coming to see us for the stickers alone. Like these:

Remember when we said our digital HQ is under construction? Mommy, look at me now!
Can’t wait to see you,
